UPDATE 2:

PARENT: TEST SCORES SHOW PRINCIPAL DID WELL

Former Walter O. Krumbeigel Middle School vice-principal now serves as Hurden-Looker's principal.

UPDATE:

Baskerville will continue to get paid, but will be suspended from her job as principal for the remainder of the school year. After that, she will not be rehired.

Board members Dennis Kobitz, John O'Shea, Elbert Smith, Nagy Sileem, Helen Scheirer-Dino, and Ray Monel voted for the suspension. Nathalie Yafet, Sip Whitaker, and Bryan Scipio voted against it.

Read the Star-Ledger's report by Jason Jett on the board's decision.

On Tuesday, April 26, Baskerville was removed from her position with no explanation.

Now, parents are once again faced with the task of bringing Mrs. Baskerville back.

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE HELPED

Many parents have already signed letters, asking state and county officials for help. Many parents also attended the board meeting on April 30 to protest or question the decision to terminate Baskerville.

Read this Gazette-Leader report about Baskerville's termination and this Star-Ledger report about parent protests.

BOE HAS NOT FOLLOWED LAW

We have learned that the Board of Education did not follow the law when it fired Baskerville without taking a vote.
