Hillsiders Handed a Tax Hike

Hillside homeowners are discovering that their taxes have gone up AGAIN now that they've received this quarter's tax bill.

The tax hike prompted Ward 4 Councilmember Gerald "Pateesh" Freedman to call the politicians at Town Hall a shameless bunch for passing a tax increase to Hillsiders as Councilmembers voted themselves a 30 percent salary increase on the side.

Councilmember Peter Corvelli was quick to criticize the school district for the tax increase even though the political organization to which he belongs controlled the Board of Education up until last April.

Hillsiders also got a tax increase from the County. The county Board of Freeholders is also controlled by the "Democratic" political organization. The Freeholders have been spending public money on purchasing child car seats and building a "children's museum" as part of their "Year of the Family" publicity scheme.
