Hillside celebrates its 90th Anniversary

No, the 4th of July didn't come early this year.

Last week, the residents of Hillside were treated to a fireworks show in honor of Hillside's 90th anniversary as a township.

The pyrotechnic display was just one of many events planned for the year-long celebration. The first was a reenactment of the first ever township committee meeting held in 1913.

The fireworks was preceded by an afternoon picnic replete with hotdogs, hamburgers, popcorn, and cotton candy funded by donations from township businesses. Musical performers, including student singers and the High School band provided the afternoon's entertainment.
