Freedman: Dedicate New Park to Vets

Fourth Ward Councilman Gerald "Pateesh" Freedman is asking that the new park being planned for Liberty Avenue be dedicated to the Hillside veterans.

The township will utilize grant money to turn the land at the corner of Liberty and Long Avenues into a small park.

The land once held a gas station but has not been in use for many years.

Freedman has also proposed a citizen committee to oversee the planning of the park. The committee, the councilman stated, would ensure that politics does not come into play when dedicating the park.
