Tuesday's National Night Out
On Tuesday, August 5, the Hillside Police Department will sponsor contests and games at National Night Out in Hillside.
The event will take place at the park on Central Ave and is open to the public.
Activities will include open swimming pool, clowns, balloons, a moon bouncer, fingerprinting, and more.
Special guests include ABA/NBA retired All-Stars Earl "the Pearl" Monroe, Mike "the Crusher" Davis Luther Rackley, Gerald Govan, Bill Willoughby, Philip Harris and Mike Rooney - facing Hillside Township employees in a "celebrity" basketball game.
National Night Out is celebrated all across the nation. Its purpose is to heighten crime prevention awareness, strengthen relations between the community and police, and to let criminals know that communities are willing to fight to defend their neighborhoods.
